Why Critical Thinking Is Disappearing – The Rise of Collective Stupidity

This video transported me to about 65 years ago. Now I'm 77 but still not completely clear as to what we understand as TRUTH.  Too many different perspectives regarding the same issue can be confusing.  Learning is a great part of our true existence, it is part of our purpose to live.
I am moved by the intensity of the words and the images in the video. It is so true how education has been hijacked by a few crooks to manipulate us into behaving in their benefit.
It is difficult to realize how much the masses run to behave as others do while avoiding reflection and true thinking. Thinking requires true solitude. It is imperative we learn to be alone in order to open our window to the HERE and NOW of our daily life.
MEDITATION (as the ability to stop the repetitive thinking process) has been for me a door into the reality we all need in order to find the solid ground to think deeply to stand strongly on our two feet as a base to build our perspective on our existence. While thinking is imperative, our ability to allow our being the experience to simply be, perceiving our surroundings is also an important part of building the bases for thinking independently.
The irony is that too much thinking can also be an impediment to perceive the fullness of reality. In fact my view is that the many benefits we have obtained from thinking, it has encouraged us to use it even in instances it is not the correct tool to use in understanding. There are cases when a more emotional approach would be required to understand correctly and communicate an issue. I believe in our evolution we'll develop more that ability to understand using less thinking and more emotions. Hard to predict, especially when we witness so many mistakes performed by being too emotionally involved and not enough reasoning.
This last video reminds me of my teens when I began the independent thinking process, I went through a long period of separating my life from the group of others in the neighborhood who were following a smart, tall leader they had identified as "Capirucho" who developed an intellectual leadership and had a following group who used to meet during the early hours of the morning when most people were sleeping, at a 24-7 cafe called "La Cascada" to discuss philosophical and psychological issues
.
I became the rare individual who had rejected that group after having an embarrassed situation with the leader.     I began then to write a sort of "diary" in order to collect my enquiries in a more balanced and clear manner.

They were lonely times developing into a training to think deeper into all issues that confronted me.      It was then that I started reading the psychologist ERICH FROMM who happened to live in Cuernavaca, a smaller city south of Mexico city.

Fromm had been one of Freud's colleges during his famous breakthrough discoveries in psychology.     Unfortunately I never met him personally.     It was then that I realized that the thinking process, when it's repetitive following the masses belief system, is interfering with the correct creative thinking process.

Then I understood that meditation was an open window to observe the reality we're immersed in, that too much thinking was not allowing me to see.     So I realized there is a quality about "thinking" necessary for it to be of use in its discovery of that reality, but the open window is essential to feed new thoughts to discover new realities.   Thus meditation is necessary.
